A wise teacher observed that faith is caught, not taught.
At Westminster, we nurture relationships between children and God. Our Sunday school classes explore Bible stories that reveal God’s love and how we can live as God’s people. Loving our neighbor becomes an action rather than an ideal.
First Sundays: Celebrating Holy Communion
On the first Sunday of each month, children meet at 10:30 AM in the Holmes Chapel for Children’s worship before joining their families in the sanctuary in time to celebrate communion. All baptized children, with their parents’ consent, are welcome at the Lord’s Table.
Infants & Toddlers
While Westminster welcomes infants and toddlers at all worship services, childcare is also available in the school building; trained caregivers offer a safe and loving environment for young children from 8 AM – 12 PM on Sundays, allowing parents to worship and attend adult education.
3 – 5 Years Old
Children leave for their classes during “Time with the Children” at the 10:30 AM worship service. Parents reunite with their children in the Holmes Room after worship.
Janet Kifner-Arnatt, Chris LaMendola, and Debby LaMendola are the preschool teaching team. Children walk to the school building together and use arts and crafts, puppets, and musical instruments to bring Bible stories alive.
Grades 1 – 7
Children leave for their classes during “Time with the Children” at the 10:30 AM worship service. Their classes meet in the Parish Hall balcony classrooms and complete activities designed for both the children’s age and liturgical season.
