RESIDENCIES

Our doors are open to the local arts community.

Residencies at Westminster are designed to enhance the worship, music, and arts life of the church and the greater Western New York region. Groups in residence use our campus for rehearsals and events while regularly performing on the Westminster Presents concert series and in varying worship events throughout the year.

Theatre of Youth

Founded in 1972, Theatre of Youth (TOY) stimulates the imagination, nurtures the creative spirit, and enhances the education of young people by engaging them in relevant, child-centered, and professionally produced live theatre programs. TOY believes meaningful childhood experiences in the theatre develop confidence in creative thinking skills, cultivate empathy, and establish a lifelong connection to the arts.

Western New York Chamber Orchestra

The Western New York Chamber Orchestra includes faculty from the Fredonia School of Music at SUNY Fredonia as well as professional musicians from Buffalo, Rochester, Erie, and beyond. Consisting of 15 to 40 players, the orchestra is flexible to perform much of the standard orchestral repertoire, opera, and new chamber works, including those written by composer Glen Cortese, who also serves as artistic director.

The QED Vocal Ensemble

The QED Vocal Ensemble, an innovative octet comprising some of Buffalo’s finest solo and choral singers, is dedicated to exploring the unique timbre of the solo-voice ensemble and energizing audiences through diverse programming. QED is inspired by the seemingly infinite acoustic possibilities of the human voice and believes that true virtuosic performance is firmly rooted in scholarship.
